Some Challenges

Well, I've encountered a few challenges.

My wonderful husband went out and got me a coffee this morning, and because he had put sugar in it, I wouldn't drink it. I felt horrible not being able to accept his sweet gesture, but I knew if I fell down once, it would just make things hard again.

Tomorrow I am making cupcakes for a birthday. I'm trying to decide what recipe to use. There are cupcake and frosting recipes using agave nectar, but the flavor and decoration options are somewhat limited. I'm trying to decide if I should alter what I serve to everyone else for my new requirements, or just make traditional cupcakes - and if I make them with Sugar, should I eat one? If I don't, it would be strange.

I am beginning to realize that avoiding sugar is going to be as socially awkward as being vegan was.

Hello! I'm Jeremiah's sis. I don't know how long you two have known each other, but if you are the same Nicole that I vaguely remember growing up then you might vaguely remember me too!

I was just lurking on your blog to figure out if it was you when I read (obviously) that you are trying to give up refined sugar. I think that is, for lack of a better word, pretty rad. Although having been vegan for about four years, I think that giving up refined sugar is going to be much more of a challenge than being vegan. (If you can call someone who eats refined sugar a true vegan.) Either way, good luck with your endeavor!
